Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Physical Chemistry

Description
The Department of Chemistry at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Physical Chemistry to begin in August 2026. A successful candidate will be expected to teach Quantum Mechanics and Spectroscopy lecture and lab, Thermodynamics, General Chemistry lecture and lab, and an upper-level elective. As our department grows to meet increasing student interest and to contribute further to the College, our new colleague will be the third physical chemist in our department. This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). This position offers full benefits and a starting salary in the range of $101,850 to $103,850. Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and undergraduate teaching as well as a commitment to inclusive pedagogies. Ph.D. in Chemistry is required by the beginning of the appointment.
