    Matanuska-Susitna College invites applications for a full-time, bipartite Term Assistant Professor of Chemistry, under the University of Alaska Anchorage College of Arts & Sciences. Matanuska-Susitna College of UAA is committed to faculty diversity as a way to strengthen pedagogy in an increasingly diverse society. The successful candidate will need to be available to start teaching introductory Chemistry courses by August 2023.

    Duties:
    20SERVICE WORKLOAD: This position is required to provide service to the Department, the Public, the Profession, &/or the University. This service may include curriculum development and service on various university committees. This position is expected to provide department coordinator duties on an academic year rotation with other department faculty.Essential 80INSTRUCTIONAL WORKLOAD: Teach a full-time bipartite instructional workload (typically 24 credits per academic year) of lower division (100 and 200 level) chemistry courses and labs to undergraduate college students in a manner consistent with the specific course content guide description. Prepare syllabus consistent with the specific course content guide description. Prepare instruction appropriate to student learning outcomes and class delivery mode. Face-to-face delivery is required; blended and online delivery as needed. Maintain office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Provide timely feedback to students on their learning in order to maximize student success. Submit final grades by established deadline. Participate in university-wide program assessment activities as needed.Essential

    Typical Experience:
    Evidence of potential for successful college teaching and service. College-level teaching experience preferred.

    Required Education or Training:
    Minimum Master's degree in chemistry or closely related field required, Ph.D. preferred. ABD's (all but defense) will be considered.

    Salary Information:

    This is a bipartite, full-time, 9-month, term-funded, represented faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
